Subject:  LOST CAT (JUNIOR)  SEARCH STRATEGY  CONSULTATION
From: sickofcats@aol.com

I NEVER THOUGHT THIS WOULD HAPPEN TO ME . . . . IT DID !

I have owned cats my whole life.  The last thing I expected to happen was to have my cat jump over the fence and not come back. .
I had moved into a new place about 8 months before.  My cat, Junior, had never been out of the yard, although he liked to walk along the top of the fence.
One evening he jumped over the fence to chase a cat and got into a fight.  I went outside and couldn't find him, and was so positive he would come back, I went to bed.

Well, he never showed up.  The next day I walked around the neighborhood calling his name.  I was certain that if he heard me he would appear.   HE DID NOT.  He always came running to me when I called him at home.  . And I am certain he heard me because one week later he was found in the backyard of a neighbor - 7 houses down the street!

The first day I made flyers and distributed them to all the houses around my block and many houses across the street.  I put them up on telephone poles.  I posted an ad on craigslist.  I checked the two shelters closest to me.  Every night and morning I walked around the neighborhood calling his name.  After 5 days I was an emotional wreck.
I happened upon Landa's site through another site that someone on craigslist had sent me. I called to hire her, however, she was booked in the next three days.

In the interim she gave me a phone consultation.  She made suggestions I had never even thought of.   I "begrudgingly" followed her advice and stayed up the rest of the night working on some suggestions she made.  Over the next day and a half I followed what she told me to do.  You have to realize that at this point I was sure he was long gone or dead.  I was sure I had done everything to find Junior!  I was physically exhausted from lack of sleep from searching and working a full time job, but Landa was very encouraging (while everyone else around me was not!)

Well, two days later due to following Landa's advice..... I got the call I had been waiting for!!  Junior had been located!!! He had lost weight and was completely filthy - but he was alive!!!  When I showed up to retrieve him, he ran from me when I called his name.  ALL THE THINGS I THOUGHT MY CAT WOULD NOT DO, HE DID  ----- JUST LIKE LANDA HAD TOLD ME!!!

If it hadn't been for Landa's persistence and encouragement, I'm not sure I would have found Jr.

I AM SO GLAD I DID THE SEARCH CONSULTATION WITH YOU!!!!!

Re:  LOST CAT/PHONE CONSULTATION

Thank you so much for the informative phone sessions. And thank you for responding to my initial voicemail so quickly.

I had felt much better and more hopeful after talking with you.  I waited till the rain had stopped around midnight and went out for one more walk through of the apartment complex in search of Keighty. I used a spotlight (one of your many suggestions as to how to proceed)

About five minutes into my walk I heard a couple of faint meows close by each time I called out her
name. She was crouching behind the bushes!!  I got her back seemingly safe and sound!!!! She will be seeing a Vet in the near future to make sure she hadn't caught anything undesirable while she was roaming outdoors for more than 28 hours, and to get microchipped. I am also looking into installing a gate to better block the front door.

Thank you again for the prepping and consultation.  I owe you so much!!!!   Without your concern,
empathy, and helpful talks, especially the part about lost pets having been recovered even weeks after they had gone missing, I probably wouldn't have made that last walk through. I'll be telling my friends about your website and services. I am extremely happy to have my kitty back.

Best Regards,

DISPLACED CAT FOUND AFTER BEING LOST FOR TWO  MONTHS, MANY MILES FROM HOME

Landa...I have some GREAT news!  I found my missing cat Snowie.. You consulted with me via a phone consultation in July regarding Snowie who I lost in Ft. Lauderdale during a vet visit (she got loose in the cage in the car).  You gave me such great advice, and I followed all of it ........and it worked!

It was a joyful day on Saturday!! Due to your advice, some strategic and crafty detective work, a lot of patience and persistence and the help of some very nice people,---my two month long search has been successful.

Snowie is now reunited with me in my home.  She is healthy, safe and sound. What a blessing! Even tho’ the odds were against us —being that we lost her many miles away from home and that she is so shy with unfamiliar people........

Snowie was found four blocks from where she was lost.  Thank you for your concern and support through this process.  Please share in this pay off — it is a significant one.  Jill Goermar (phone number provided upon request)

Yes, I do think the phone consultation was very helpful.  First, you gave Christie hope.  She was at a loss as what to do when Winston turned up missing.  You gave her ideas that helped her be more proactive.  Keeping busy helped her feel better that she had done everything she could to try to rescue Winston. She was too agitated to think straight at that point.

She also rented a humane cat trap, and had a beautiful dream about Winston sitting outside the cat trap the night before his body was found.  She felt like that was a sign from God that Winston was free.  (Gone to a better place.) That same night I had a dream about 2 beautiful angels in bright blue dresses carrying Winston away to heaven.  I know it sounds weird.  I told Christie about it, and she said 'angels don't wear bright blue'. Then some random lady gave Christie a book about pet loss.  Inside was a picture of 2 angels wearing bright blue dresses.

I think all your ideas kept Christie from really panicking.  Also, you were both very kind, and the story that you shared about your cat was very comforting to her.

Honestly, I would say you and Annalisa were a God-send, and helped Christie in ways we probably don't even know about, beside the things I mentioned.

Thanks again for everything.

Unfortunately no good news to report.  We have had a few sightings and get about 5 calls a day but most are at least a day old or not Sena.

I know your consultation helped us.  People never would have been made aware of this situation if it hadn't been for you.  I hope that we will be able to call you very soon and tell you we found her.

UPDATE:  SENA FOUND!!!  LOST NINE DAYS!

An older couple found Sena wandering about 20 miles away from her home today (10/18/09) at a Target parking lot, and although she was scared, they were able to lure her behind the store to their home.  They happened to be looking in the newspaper under the LOST ads, and saw my ad and immediately called..
We surmise she had been dropped off in that lot due to several factors that happened over the course of the 9 days..
We'll tell you all about it...Heidi

Camilla the cat lost 35 days in a snow storm in Michigan......comes home on own!

I am VERY happy to report that Camilla came home about an hour ago!!! She has a limp, but she appears in good condition. She seems a little skittish, but when I saw her she came right to me so she was glad to be home! She seemed hungry and has lost some weight for sure, but she must have been eating something because she wasn't as skinny as I thought she would be being gone this long! I want to thank you for your guidance and reassurance. I never gave up on her and you didn't either. Your phone consultation and the Lost Cat Guide was very helpful and it gave me a clear plan of action to follow. It's nice to know that there are others out there concerned for the animals' wellbeing.

Here's a picture I just took of her. I will see how she is doing with her limp and all tomorrow morning because she may need to see the vet. I'm also looking into ways to prevent this from happening again. Good luck to you in your searches!

Landa - Here's the advertising we used after we consulted with you.  I'm also  going to send you a map with the location where we found him - exactly where you predicted he might be! We walked the neighborhood and passed out the fliers and talked to passersby and asked to look in people's backyards, and then we started getting calls with sightings! It was really fantastic. We never could have been so focused without your guidance. Thomas seems to be doing great. He's meowing a lot, but I think that's because he's glad to be back. He's coming up to me and wanting to be petted way more than he used to. Our other cat, Moonlight, who meowed painfully to let us know when he was first missing, is acting a little angry. I think she's upset by all the dog smells on him. Neighbors reported that they saw him get into a fight with another cat, so he probably has different cat smells on him, too.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I was visiting a friend’s house on a Friday afternoon with my puppy Ronnie.  He was out of my sight for no more than a minute.  Upon searching the yard, I found a small hole. As soon I realized he was missing, an all out dog hunt began with 15 of my closest friends and family. Ronnie had vanished. We looked that day for 6 hours and began the search again the following morning at 5:30 am. That day we searched all day and had a huge support group that helped us hang between 600-700 8.5” x 11” signs throughout the neighborhood, including main streets surrounding the neighborhood. Because of these signs and all the people hanging them, a buzz was created in the neighborhood. When I went to hang signs in the late afternoon that day, a woman approached me to tell me about Landa and her amazing ability to help people find their dogs. However, there were no calls about Ronnie.

I immediately called Landa and set up an appointment with her for the following morning. On our over hour-long call, Landa laid out the blueprint for finding my Ronnie. It was with her amazing guidance and specifics of what needed to be done that brought my baby home!

By day four  (with Landa's techniques in place) Ronnie was back in my arms. A family from out of the neighborhood had found him and driven back in the neighborhood for work.  This was a truly trying yet magical experience. Landa is at the top of the Pet Detective Game. She was honest, straight-forward and willing to work with me throughout the entire process until Ronnie was safely returned home. Thank you, Landa. You changed my life!!!!!!

Subject: Re: Lambo

You won't believe this, but Lambo literally walked into my arms and let me carry him in after being out there for nearly four weeks! Feeding him out of the trap helped me establish a routine; he learned to eat in the same place, same time, every day. I think this was a good anchor for a cat that went through such a disorienting experience as he did.

I want to sincerely thank you for all of your help, Landa! Without your direction and encouragement, I never would have been able to stick it through this long, or use the limited time I had as wisely as I was able to do. Your suggestions with those two crucial things really made all the difference in the world!

Your Search Consultation is invaluable, and we can't thank you enough for helping us get Sydney back.   You can personally give my phone or email as a reference for anyone who is interested and has a question--we'll give the highest recommendation. It's definitely worth the money, time, and most importantly getting their animal back.

Sydney was a displaced, indoor only cat who escaped on August 15, 2010.  It was 12 days and we had no sightings of our cat.   After we had our consultation, we implemented the steps Landa laid out for us that night.   WE GOT OUR CAT BACK IN 4 HOURS!!!!  UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Before that, we searched unnecessarily through poison oak, spent a lot of time following the wrong leads because we didn't know how to confirm them, and telling people to help in ways that could ultimately make our situation worse.  She helped us focus our energy in the right places and had us put our best effort into the most effective techniques  Thank you Landa for providing this Search Consultation--we are convinced we would not have gotten our cat back without this!!!

Kudos to you both for making a real difference in the the lives of so
many people.

I will update you as my situation plays out. Once again, thank you
from the bottom of my heart. To be sure, what you provided me gave me
tremendous perspective and angles from which to evaluate things that
brought me to the conclusion I have come to insofar as moving forward  with a real comprehensive understanding of the ins and outs of these
situations. We will be in touch. Keep the great work up!

Monkey is FOUND!!!  I did my usual dusk search in all the usual places and she was sitting in the alley way right next door where I have looked 10 times before.  I approached very slowly with some treats and she came to me after about 10 minutes.  She has the occasional sneeze and a pronounced limp but no other obvious damage.  Good appetite and she is now on the bed cleaning herself and purring away.

I really think getting the big Tom out of the picture as you advised and getting him up for adoption, ended this much sooner than it may have otherwise.  I trapped him no more than 25 feet away from where I found Monkey.  So one lost cat found and the other given another chance...a good ending.  Thanks for your help and encouragement.  Had I not consulted with  you, I would have made all the mistakes."..she will come when I call...she will come back when  she gets hungry..put up the little flyers wrapped around the telephone pole...and when none of those worked...I would have given up."  As an added bonus I now know a lot of my neighbors.

I was horrified to come home to find my little Maltese Samson had run away.  He had no microchip.   I frantically posted flyers in the neighborhood, searched non-stop day and night, missed a week of work and even joined other pet search companies.  Nothing  worked.  I was beginning to lose hope and give up. I decided to give it one last try and came across Lost Pet Detection on the internet.   All I can say now is I couldn’t have done it without Annalisa and Landa.   They turned my sadness into hope, my fatigue into energy, my brain working in perfect harmony with my heart, and the guidance, tools and support I needed to find my dog.   Even in the midst of complete exhaustion from creating posters, driving around, and heartbreak, their words of this advice kept me going, “I know it's hard, and you want to cry and be depressed and stay in bed, but you need to take care of this because timing is so crucial now.  After you find Samson, THEN you can stay in bed for 5 days. But, NOT until you find him."  A week later, I found Samson 24 miles away!  It was the miracle I had been dreaming about since he left.  Thankfully, I had two angels here on earth to help me make it come true.   Much Love, Melissa
P.S. – Yes, Samson is micro chipped now

re:  King/feline lost one week

Thank you so much for following up.   After our phone consultation I followed your advice and techniques.  Two evenings later, a neighbor called to say he had found King dead and had placed his body in a plastic bag and placed him in a garbage can.  I realized he was telling the truth; he is a good guy.

I loved King more than any of the other animals that have been in my life.  King and I bonded instantly from the moment his mother brought the kittens into our yard when they were probably 4 weeks old.  He greeted me every evening and we spent countless hours together at night and on the weekends.  He was smart, affectionate, communicative and athletic in the unique way of a wild cat that is somehow born with a natural attraction to people.  I now have a lot to think in terms of my future with cats.  I still need to keep his mostly wild mother and sisters safe, and knowing the odds facing outdoor cats, I will need to figure out a way to make things work with my wife's cat allergies if I am to have an indoor cat in the future.

Your advice was invaluable to me and I find some solace in knowing that I did the right things in my search.  I think what you do is fascinating and it is a huge service to people like me who suddenly find ourselves in a bad situation and strongly suspect the conventional wisdom with regard to missing cats is sorely inadequate.

Your consultation was crucial to getting him home; I would never have thought of the things you told me to do....

Mari
Kiki & friend
Our cat, Beena, darted out of the house to chase off a stray cat one evening.  We only had her for 3 months and she was strictly an indoor house cat.  Beena was my first pet cat and I wasn't sure what to do.  I was really scared and worried.  I stayed up all night scouring the Internet looking for ways to help our cat come home.  The next day we made flyers, posted them up and passed them out to our neighbors up and down our street.  We also bought 2 humane traps in hopes that Beena was still nearby.

TEN days passed and still not even a single sighting of Beena.  We had trapped almost every cat in the neighborhood, except Beena!  My fiance and I were starting to lose hope.  We were physically and emotionally tired.  We were also losing momentum and not as energetic to talk to neighbors or to set up our humane traps.  One night, in doing more research on the Internet, I came across Landa's contact info for a pet detective.  We were so tired of looking that any kind of help would have been great.  I contacted her in hopes that she would bring her bloodhounds to sniff out Beena's scent and give us an approximate location to keep looking.  What impressed my fiance and I the most was that Landa was forthright and honest.  She told us that bringing her dogs out would not be as effective because of the area where we lived.  Instead, she highly recommended the consultation (which helped us save a lot of money!).

We consulted with Landa for almost 2 hours that night.  She was very clear in her explanations, she was highly knowledgeable, she was very thorough, and she was good at allowing us to ask questions.  There was not a single stone left unturned.  Landa was pretty confident Beena (with her type of personality) was still in the area.  She explained to us the things keeping Beena from coming home and what to do about it.  And she was confident that Beena was going to start coming out of her hiding place.  That was just what we needed to hear to reenergize us.  We got off the phone amped up and determined to find Beena.  And sure enough, 3 days later, with the advice, support, and encouragement from Landa, we caught Beena in our humane trap!  We really couldn't believe it.  Beena had been gone for 13 days and it was amazing to see her back home.  She was skinnier and very dirty, but also glad to be sitting in front of the heater.

Since finding our cat, Landa has been great about still asking us if we had any questions.  She is so wonderful at following up with us.  I had so many questions on how to best safe-guard our cat and home so that this wouldn't happen again.  And Landa was more than happy to help us out.  Her love for animals and her genuine desire to help others is so evident.  Thank you, Landa!  I am so glad we found you!

DISPLACED CAT LOST IN LOS ANGELES FOREST OFF A FREEWAY EXIT....FOUND DUE TO SEARCH STRATEGY TECNIQUES 5 DAYS LATER..

Words cannot express how I felt when we saw Rajah again.  Rajah was lost for 2 days in the Angeles National Forest when we decided to contact you.  We had already searched the forest the best we could while calling his name.  There was no response, but we did find his harness and leash. After speaking with you, we realized this was not a good use of our time.  With the hard terrain, harsh weather, and the presence of wild animals, we were not sure what his chance for survival was.  Also, we didn't live around the area and it was extremely difficult for us to commute to the forest to search for him.  We didn't give up hope and twice a day we would go to the forest to call his name and search for him.  When I called, you instructed me the best way of getting him back and told me his survival rate was very high. You gave me hope as it was diminishing.  You also gave me a very strategic plan of action to implement for an INDOOR ONLY DISPLACED CAT.

I followed your plan.  Just two days after consulting with you...we were able to locate Rajah!  That was Christmas Eve and that was the best Christmas present we can ever ask for. After five days of being lost, Rajah shed a few pounds and got some burns on his paws, but overall, he was the same.  Rajah is now home for the holidays and is more cuddling than ever.  Again, thank you so much for your help.

Subject: Arthur has been found!
From: inspirashin@gmail.com

We got Arthur back last night!  The woman that picked him up told me that they had been searching for the owner on their end, that they had picked him up on one of the larger streets around my mom's house the night he went missing. They couldn't find the owner, they had been going door to door asking if the dog belonged to someone.

The daughter (who is about 13 yrs old) was crying and holding Arthur, talking with my niece (who is also 13 yrs old) and both were crying and exchanging stories. Later, my niece told me that the daughter said that they were visiting her older sister who lives in the mobile home community my mother lives in. The literally picked him up minutes after he left the house I'm assuming, from what my niece says, about 3 houses down from my mother's! My mother said he got out at about 11pm, and the young girl said it was about 11pm when he got picked up. They took him to Santa Ana that night, and named him "Brownie".

They bought him clothes, food, treats, his own bowl, shampoo and she let him sleep in the bed with her. She bought him a "blankie".

They live in Santa Ana, about 14 miles away. Arthur has been with them 20 days. The sister, if she lives in my mother's community, I AM SURE saw the signage you recommend I place up  at least once.

Thank you a million times. I followed your advise to the T and I am so grateful I did. Like I had said to you when I called you, I had put up about 250 to 300 copy flyers which produced no results.  You are our Angel.

Landa!  We found her!  We are so happy!  Thank you for all your wonderful information!

Tonight a woman drove by and said her grandson had the cat. They even took her to a vet to see if she was chipped as she quoted as due diligence! She is now happy at home playing with the other cat we have.

Thank you so much Landa! It was your suggestion about re-doing the sign on our fence  that caught her attention!

CHEETAH INDOOR ONLY CAT LOST 24  HOURS @ CONSULTATION.....

We just caught Cheetah!! He's back home now and exploring and eating. Thank you sooo much for all your help! We really appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. I don't know that we would have been able to find and catch him without your knowledge and help.  Your consultation was so informative...we had no idea what we were going to do and there was so much you COULD do!!!  We followed everything you said and he's home!!!!!

Again, thank you soooo much!!

Landa, thank you so much for the excellent advice during the Search Consultation, on helping me find my cat Gidget. She was finally located about a mile away from home, obviously lost. Without your help I would  not have found her. She had been missing exactly 3 weeks. Through research, I had no idea that only 8% of cats will come home on their own. I am so grateful I didn’t give up searching for her.  I know that if I had not found “Lost Pet Detection” and consulted with you, I very well may have lost hope. I will forever be grateful

A few months ago, I did your consultation.  Without you..this photo of Arthur would never have been taken...God forbid he was lost from me forever but worse...he might not have made it this far.

YOUR ADVICE THROUGH THE HARDEST AND DARKEST TIMES WERE GOLDEN AND ITS THE ONLY VOICE THAT GUIDED US TO REUNITE AND KEPT ME SANE.

Thank you sooo much.

Your phone consultation was so worth it. You're my hero and you inspire me. Thank you for being you, gives folks like me hope and also validates that it is not wrong to love your kitty this much.
You're right there are a lot of things I still need to do. I have 3 weeks of time off coming up soon (I had a visit planned to Vietnam to see my sister - of course I've cancelled my trip). My
son and his girlfriend are coming over too - they will move back with me as I am desperately alone and severely depressed - not sure how I am functioning. I will finally eat and live again once I get her back..I know she is alive and someone has taken her in, it is a matter of finding who has her.I will keep you posted. I am back to my search.Thank you so very very very much.Search still goes  on.

Shaka is home!

Your consultation helped me so much in everyway.

The most important thing you told me was "it all depends on the Human Animal Bond" and not to give up!! I'm a pessimist by nature and it was really hard to keep going but your encouragement helped. And yes most people thought I was crazy the whole time!
Funny story- we also had a "false alarm" where someone called and said they had our kitten. Of course it wasn't but we had been getting pics of this cat from different people the day before (this was after another round of flyers), so when they called we were prepared due to your instructions and coaxing.

We went to see it anyway and then the people basically made us take the cat, hahah.....so we got her scanned and eventually got her back to the owner (I think the owner learned about collars/ID that day! she was chipped but not registered!). Anyway you were totally right that people can't identify cats, this one was huge and looked totally different than Shaka! Unbelieveable!

Also the cam was a great idea, too, I wish I had known to get one of those on the first couple days after she went missing but I hadn't spoken to you yet. They had them at our local Walmart for $50. We were able to get pics of the neighborhood cats at the bushes where we had a sighting, and confirm that Shaka wasn't there. It worked really well.
Anyway I will give you the full story later!

PIA IS HOME...ALMOST ONE MONTH MISSING!

My signs  were being torn down, destroyed, etc., but only in certain areas - in my area - they are all still perfectly hanging and if they were loose - other people fixed them!!!

I am going to go take them all down Tues when I have a day off, and put up a few that say she is home

I think many will be happy to see the FOUND posters!!!!!

Oh, it's been so stressful but I know I will sleep tonight!!!

Pia turned 9 during her disappearance
You can see by my Facebook that's y people love animals and took an interest in Pia's welfare

Thank you so much for going above and beyond your scope of practice by continually checking in and making my little angel a priority in your life.

You are truly an amazing woman and know what you are doing!!!

Please, fell free to use anything I have emailed as a testimony to your integrity, personally, professionalism and above all, genuine concern.

Thank you so much Landa

Your techniques are what brought her home!  THANK YOU
